DESCRIPTION:Compassion is one of US Values Alliance Top 6 Values we want to see more of in 2025 \nTo that end\, we want to share our ally Global Compassion Coalition’s event: \nFestival of Compassion Launches in Cape Town: A Global Call to Come Home \nWhat happens when a world in crisis remembers to care? \nThis is the question at the heart of the first-ever Festival of Compassion\, taking place from\n10–12 September 2025 in Cape Town\, South Africa. \nHosted by the Global Compassion Coalition (GCC)\, this flagship gathering is unique: a lived journey inviting people to explore\ncompassion not as a soft sentiment\, but as a radical\, embodied force for public good. \nHeld under the theme “Come Home”\, the festival invites participants into a collective\nhomecoming\, returning to self\, community\, and planet. Moving beyond a conventional\nconference\, the Festival will co-create a space for shared grief\, joy\, and action through rituals\,\nteachings\, and workshops. \n“Compassion reflects the wisdom that everything is related to everything else\, and it naturally\ndraws you into feeling more connected with all things. It draws us into relationships of care\,”\nsays Rick Hanson\, Founder and President of the Global Compassion Coalition. “It belongs in\nour schools\, in government\, in business\, in how we care for each other and for the planet we\nshare. DESCRIPTION:Community is one of our Top 6 Values we would like to see more of in 2025 \nOn Thursday\, September 25\, the US Values Alliance will collaborate with Values-20 South Africa and the International Working Group for Health Systems Strengthening\, to host a special event in the lead up to the Values-20 (V20) conference\, focusing on the similarities and differences between how Community is understood in the USA and how Ubuntu is practiced in South Africa. \nThe V20 is an annual international celebration of values that takes place alongside the G20 Political Summit each year. This year\, the Values 20 South Africa team will host the V20 Conference from October 16–17 in Cape Town\, both to celebrate the values we wish to see more of in our societies and to explore how these values can be embedded into national and international law and policy. \nThis will be an interactive event and a unique opportunity for people from the United States\, South Africa\, and around the world to exchange ideas on building healthier and more values-driven societies. \nSign up HERE to participate
